Why brave new world shouldnt be banned

On page 30, the babies are lured by books and flowers, then they are given electric shocks. This scene leaves the reader feeling uneasy and disgusted by the immorality of the people in this novel.

This kind of uncomfortable feeling should not be needed to make a difference in society. Many high school students are influenceable and this kind of book does nothing but corrupt the mind of adolescent teens. Another example of immorality is on page Foster is explaining how the caste an embryo is predestined in determines the amount of oxygen they recieve.

This leads the embryo in a lower caste to be born with defects. The idea of a child being born with a life changing and damaging defect due to scientists predestinating them is unnatural. It does not have relevancy to our society nor is it needed to make a change in our future.

Members of the World State are not able to think for themselves, and the characters who do think for themselves are not happy.

The novel asks its readers to question whether it is more important to be happy or to be free. The novel was first banned in Ireland in for anti-religion, anti-family, and blasphemous content.
