He is trying hard, he is spending every energy to find his old life. But he has wasted his chances and now he is paralysied but even paradise seems to ignore his effort.
Wiz is here like the bad guy, he reminds him that he came nothing to something. He declare that he is at the very top he his under mind control. But because of him wiz too is in struggle so he says in anger. This is a song within a song. Wiz is responding to adam's voice. It's like when you talk to someone about how bad your day went and then they take over the conversation and start putting in their two cents about how much worse their day was.
You can tell it's two voices because adam's voice shows he still cared about his old flame. Yet the lyrics for wiz show that he is full of rancor. In my opinion, this song is about a boy who is sick of his girlfriend and is fed up with love. He spent all his money on her and then she either ditched him or they had a fight, so the boy had no way to get home so he had to use a payphone to call home. Basically, he's sick of love and wants to be his own person and spend his money on what he wants, since she probably didn't pay for anything!
That's exactly what's happening to me, sad but true :. The meaning of the song to me means a guy would do anything for his girlfriend even though she couldn't careless about him then something happened to him so he went to the nearest payphone because his phone was dead so he called her lots of times wasting all of his change when he called her the last time on his last dime she finally answered even after all the bad things happened in their relationship he will love her no matter what.
Most of the time he's talking about the fact that he wishes everything could have worked out because the girl meant a lot to him. He also talks about how if fairytales were real, they would still be together, but he knows all good things end at some point.
Then when wiz khalifa comes in he's practically saying the whole time "what's with you? Yeah, you messed up, but that doesn't mean you should grieve over the fact that you did.
You did amazing the whole way through until the very end when you screwed up. The singer, adam levine is crushed and wants the fairy tell ending, but knows better, the other person in the relationship could care less.
He still loves the girl and always remembers all the dreams they once shared. Meanwhile, the girl has decided to look at tomorrow instead of being stuck in yesterday: going separate way. Adam blames the girl for what happened. In his opinion, it is what she did and not what he did that has led their relationship to separation. Therefore, along with grieve, he is furious. I just recently broke up with my boyfriend. I initiated it but I just couldn't let him go.
I thought everything would go back the way it was before when I tried to win him back but it only left me scarred and hurt because he doesn't want me anymore. So you see, its something the girl would feel in the song and honestly I learned it the hardway that you can't expect everything to turn out the way you want it to be. I think it's about a guy who only recently awakened to the fact that he and his ex girlfriend's love is no longer there since he tried to connect to her, spending all he's got to do so, but failing in the end.
Only then has he realized that things don't always go as you want and that fairy tales are complete lies because of their happy endings, which is unnatainable in any way. This song is about. He runs off with the girl who he loves in the video, and leaves her in a safe place; while escaping from the police who are chasing him.
He finally escapes and finds a payphone. He calls her and tells her that they need to be together; "where have the times gone baby Where are the plans we made for two. In the music video, first it shows adam levine in a car crash, and calling someone, then it shows what happened before the crash. He's working in an office maybe a bank , then all of a sudden a whole bunch of masked people come running in waving their weapons everywhere and stealing items, making people sit on the ground with their arms over their head.
He's wiser but sadder. She left him for an inferior little s--t according to rapper Wiz. Now the world wants him but I guess he using her as material for his song. Thankyou pinamia! This man was obviously in love with this woman and thought she felt the same.
But have you seen the video? This interpertation and the video do NOT correspond. I think Adam Levine wrote this song about his ex-girlfriend. The song was released this month, the same month he broke up with Anne Vyalitsyna.
We then see his anger at the girl, 'Baby it's all wrong, where are the plans we made for two? I have actually just watched the video and may have found a link to the meaning of the song at the start of the video, he is willing to risk his life to save her, highlighting the strong love he feels for her and then we see them split half way through the video perhaps highlighting a break up this is when the trouble starts we see problems coming at him from every angle, with police cars appearing from every where and he then has to swerve in the car to try and get back on track and avoid them, these represent the problems he is facing after the relationship showing how hard it is for.
We then see the end of the video and the car exploding, perhaps signalling an end to the relationship and then with him going to the payphone showing he just wants to get back to normal its a very vague link but one that fits. Think about when you have used a payphone and how you felt We see him in the beginning of the video when he shuts and throws his phone away in the fire perhaps because it hasn't got any change left in it I thought that's why he used the payphone instead of the cellphone I believe all of the change spent But why payphone???
Wouldn't minutes on a cell phone be more up-to-date???? I was listening to this song while reminiscing about my ex, and i could relate to his feelings. My ex-gf left me when she did not really been honest about herself. It just won't work, as she "thinks it's too late to make it". He wants to have a go at it for one last try but it is unfortunately in vain. She wants nothing to do with him.
He gave her everything and lost himself, while she moved on. He wishes she cared, even though he said he doesn't. He stills seems to be stuck and in disbelief that she really is done. The payphone is a metaphor for reaching people he cares about.
People that will help him out of this mess. It reminds me of not knowing anyone where he is, and having relied on his partner for his emotional connections.
It could metaphorically mean his past self before all this drama dragged him down. He needs to get in touch with the past to let go of his present situation. He is unable to, as he wasted all of his time and energy on this girl. The song relates a lot of wasted time. He is left destitute with only questions of why and bittersweet memories. Calling from a payphone also is a signal of distress and emergency in this day and age. Adam has said this about the song.
For example if you called a loved one from a payphone, you'd probably be stranded somewhere and not just calling to say "hey". Finding one might be the hardest part though. I agree with you. I'd like also to point out the words he uses to express value.
All of them sounds like he propably invest on a romance that wasn't worthy Talita on March 02, General Comment I love the cynicism and bitterness of this song. PurplePanther on June 22, Link. My Interpretation The video i suggest you watch the video as i do this! Okay so you know like the story of superman or fairytales or spiderman?
Why would he run off with out her? Submit Story. Lyrics Albums Artists. Stories Albums Artists. Added by Slate Share:. No comments yet. Leave a comment. Contact News About Privacy Policy.
